Dubai is a thriving city on the Arabian Peninsula located in the United Arab Emirates, or the UAE. Located on the coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai has become a popular tourist destination because of its innovative structural wonders, such as the Burj Khalifa, the Burj Al-Arab, and the city’s many artificial islands off the coast. Much of this was done by the will of the United Arab Emirates’ Prime Minister and Vice President, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

For those interested in traveling to the UAE and Dubai, tours of Dubai must definitely be considered. There are many attractions in Dubai. For example, tourists can purchase Burj Khalifa tickets, and they can tour the breathtaking structure. The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, standing approximately two-thousand seven-hundred and twenty-three feet high, which is over half a mile. Other tours in Dubai will take visitors to a variety of locations, such as Ski Arab, an enormous 22,500 square foot indoor sky resort, or the Dubai Mall, which is the world’s largest shopping mall. The mall is part of the Burj Khalifa complex, and it contains over one-thousand and two-hundred shops. Other attractions that one could visit while touring Dubai are the Dubai Autodrome, the yacht, named “Dubai,” which is the second longest yacht in the world at 524 feet, Dubai Festival City, and Global Village Dubailand. The Global Village Dubailand is an entertainment and shopping complex in Dubai. It is touted as the world’s largest leisure project, and it should certainly be a stop on visitor’s tours in Dubai. Although shopping is one of the major reasons that tourists are attracted to Dubai, there is also a lot of cultural history within the city, like museums, as well as many sightseeing locations.

There are so many places to see and things to do in Dubai, it is almost imperative that one visit the city. There are many bus tours and guided tours that can be used to see the city and all it has to offer. Tours in Dubai are a great way to experience the amazing city.

The City of Angels

I just got back from Los Angeles and it was an amazing trip. Sun, sea and sand. What else could you need? Well, I am writing this post to tell you about an amazing hotel that I stayed at. It is called Petit Ermitage and it is located in West Hollywood. Now, this hotel is by no means cheap, at $180 a night it is pretty luxurious, however, most of the 5 star hotels in LA are at least 200 dollars a night and they have absolutely no individual charm and reek of that sterile, international hotel smell which doesn’t make for a magical holiday.

The staff at the Petit Ermitage is extremely friendly without any of the L.A. insincerity that so many people are tired of meeting in LA hotels. The food was delicious. But the thing which was the most inviting and beautiful was the thoughtful and considered décor. This decor is incomparable to normal hotel décor which is often bland and neutral; this was vibrant and exciting, eclectic and exciting. They had great modern and rustic credenzas, bright blue padded chairs, mammoth wall hangings. This little LA secret is definitely worth booking into for a bit of west coast delight.

Outside London, Birmingham holds the first rank in terms of population. The city has enough attractions to captivate the many tourists who visit it each year. In the past, Birmingham was a favorite with tourists. This has not changed in the present as there are new attractions that keep the attention of visitors. The old sites have also been revamped to keep them in their perfect states.

There are several back to back houses located between Inge and Hurst streets. They are the only surviving structures of the type in the whole country. They have been erect since the 19th century and are a tale of many years of history. The design of the houses was a reaction to the exponential growth of population in the city. The houses were demolished in 1970 and their occupants moved to new houses that had been built by the council. The city council later restored the houses and they have been maintained ever since. They have been opened to members of the public. This is just one example of items that have been in Birmingham then and now.

The city also boasts various museums that showcase items of significance in the city’s as well as country’s history. One of them is the Museum of Jewellery Quarter. This historical store displays live demonstration of how certain workshop owners used to make their jewelry. The workshop was not built by the council but by two people who closed it 80 years ago and left everything as it was. Their overalls and tools are in the same position and condition as they were left decades ago.

Another museum that is quite a presence in the city is the Birmingham museum and art gallery. The gates of the museum were opened more than a decade and a quarter ago. It has such a large collection of paintings and various forms of art.
